Reiki is a form of hands-on healing energy technique that comes from Japan. Reiki is multidimensional and works on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies enhancing everything in your life. Reiki is not only one of the oldest healing systems in use, but also one of the most versatile. It is used to reduce stress, increase energy, stimulate, and strengthen the immune system, release pain and discomfort, improve sleep, dissolve difficult emotions, relieve symptoms of illness and disease and accelerate injury recovery.
Improving the flow of energy around the body is not only rejuvenating but brings a deep relaxation and calm, offering balance and a greater sense of wellbeing. Reiki is believed to improve just about any aspect of life.
Healing sessions last approximately 90 minutes and begin with a brief discussion to hold a focus or intention or discuss anything that is troubling you. A session in general will begin with a realignment of the energy system (energy centres and energy channels), clearing out energy blockages and recharging depleted areas. Then if any areas were highlighted doing what we can to concentrate on those areas.
Reiki is not magic, and serious illness and conditions will generally require more than one session, but in most cases, you will experience positive effects right from the very beginning. No two reiki sessions are alike. Everyone one is different, and every practitioner is different. Reiki energy has a mind of its own. It goes where needed, not necessarily to the place where we think it is needed.
Tips to get the most out of your Reiki Healing Session:
- Drink plenty of water, before and after;
- Come a few minutes early to give yourself a relaxing start;
- Make sure you have a few minutes after the session, you may wish to enjoy the feeling of deep relaxation in a safe space;
- If possible, try to avoid over stimulation through food and drink for a couple of hours before and after a session;
- Have the intention to receive whatever your body and mind need during the session.
