About this class
Yin Yoga is special – it is deep, it is mindful, it is energising, and highly therapeutic. You are guided to surrender your body, along with your mind and connect more intimately with your breath, your emotional body and the sensations held within. We use props to support you to ensure your comfort and safety. Throughout your practice you are beautifully and softly guided to develop your senses, your awareness and emotional background. Awareness is regularly brought to your breath, your life force and to consciously direct this breath deep into your body facilitating great healing, great release and simply greater health.
Yin strongly induces the relaxation response in the body and via positively stressing the thicker fascia, supports important physical processes like collagen synthesis, hydration, and energy flow. The physical results from a regular practice of Yin can be an increase in the range of movement in the joints of the body (scientifically proven), can be therapeutic relief for painful backs, shoulders or knees and the intangible benefits of this practice are plentiful and abundant but I believe the most important being to stimulate the rest and digest healing response in the body, or the parasympathetic nervous system, and students get to bathe in this healing state for over an hour. Invaluable in these times with the pace and stresses of life. This is Sundara Yoga’s signature class and space is held to guide you ‘home’ so that you can be free to develop a new loving relationship with your ‘whole’ body based in ‘Satya’, truth.

Who is this class for
Suitable for everybody and most ability levels meaning you do need to be able to get down onto the floor and back up again. Students are encouraged to listen to their bodies and stay within their body’s capacity and are completely guided and supported the whole time. There are options offered for all levels of capability or reach within the body. A minimum of 5 classes is recommended for beginners to truly appreciate the practice and get a sense of how this practice can add value in your life.

Cancellations:
We all know that life happens, however, if you do need to cancel 2 hours before class or less, or if you do not show for class, unfortunately you will lose your class fee and there will be no refunds.
